In a tragic multi-vehicle accident early Friday morning, the Chairman of the Port of Bay City was critically injured while his wife and another driver lost their lives in a deadly crash. According to the Bay City Tribune, the fatal crash occurred between a 2010 Toyota Tundra and a 2023 GMC Yukon on State Highway 60.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) confirmed that the driver of the Tundra, 29-year-old Oscar Abelenda III of Katy, and the passenger in the Yukon, 71-year-old Donna Harrison of Bay City, were pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the Yukon’s driver, 63-year-old George Harrison of Bay City, sustained critical injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
The investigations continue into its cause.
