Authorities identified 29-year-old Orlin Santos, of Houston, as the man who lost his life following a head-on crash that also killed his passenger and injured another person on Wednesday morning just outside Elkhart.
As per the initial information, the fatal two-vehicle collision took place on US Highway 287, 0.2 miles north of Elkhart in Anderson County. The early reports revealed that Orlin Santos was heading northbound on US Highway 287 when his vehicle swerved into the southbound lane for undetermined reasons.
After that, Santos’ vehicle crashed head-on into another vehicle. On arrival, medics transported the driver of the second vehicle to Palestine Regional Medical Center in stable condition. Santos and his passenger were pronounced dead at the scene by the officials. No further details were provided.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
