According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Tuesday in Riverside. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the pedestrian accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred on eastbound 91, just west of Tyler Street. A pedestrian ran in front of a tractor-trailer. The driver of the tractor-trailer slammed the brakes on seeing the pedestrian but was unable to avoid striking him.
The pedestrian was identified as 29-year-old Michael Giron Valladares. Valladares was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. The driver of the tractor-trailer did not sustain any injuries.
Other information pertaining to the collision is yet to be determined. The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
