A tragic collision near the international border at Tecate claimed the life of a 29-year-old motorcyclist on Sunday. The fatal crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. on state Route 94, approximately a mile west of state Route 188, between Campo and Dulzura.
Despite medics administering CPR at the scene, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries before transportation to a hospital. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The lanes in both directions near the motorcycle accident site were closed for approximately 90 minutes to facilitate the death investigation. Fortunately, the two occupants of the car involved in the collision reportedly escaped unharmed.
