The San Pablo Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident on Thursday morning. The accident occurred in the 5000 block of Appian Way at around 12.30 a.m.
According to the officials, a San Pablo officer initially saw a 1007 green Nissan Altima speeding on San Pablo Dam Road. They attempted to pull it over for a stop. The driver of the Altima did not stop and led the officer on a pursuit.
The pursuit was abandoned on Appian Way in El Sobrante as the Nissan was going at a high speed. Later, it was discovered that the Nissan was involved in a crash and the driver was found dead at the scene.
The identity of the driver has not been disclosed but apparently, he had multiple warrants for arrest. The fatal crash is still being investigated at this time.
