The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident in Lake Elsinore on Friday. The accident occurred on the southbound lanes of Interstate 15, at Railroad Canyon Road at around 9:15 a.m.
According to the officials, a motor vehicle was involved in a collision. A 2023 Dodge Ram 1500 was headed down the highway when the driver lost control. This caused the vehicle to veer into the freeway centre divider before going southwest and crossing all the southbound lanes. The vehicle then crashed into the Diamond Drive bridge abutment.
The driver of the vehicle was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased victim has not been disclosed at this time.
The authorities are still investigating the cause of the fatal crash. There are no other details available at this time.
