29-Year-Old Man Killed In A Bicycle Crash In Mansfield (Mansfield, OH)

In a tragic incident in Mansfield on Wednesday evening, a man lost his life after riding his bicycle into the path of a tractor-trailer, according to the Mansfield Division of Police. The crash occurred at the intersection of South Main Street and West 1st Street at 5:37 p.m.

Police reported that a 29-year-old man, cycling eastbound on West 1st Street, disregarded a red light and entered the path of a 2016 Freightliner tractor with a trailer, traveling southbound on South Main Street. The collision resulted in fatal injuries for the bicyclist, who was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead.

While the tractor-trailer driver was unharmed, he underwent evaluation at a local hospital. Investigation into the crash continues by the Mansfield police department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Additional details may be forthcoming.
