A 29-year-old man, identified as Jay Chillous, was involved in a fatal crash between a motorcycle and a vehicle on Thursday morning in Lubbock, Texas. He has succumbed to his injuries, according to a press release from the Lubbock Police Department.
The multi-vehicle accident occurred around 7:31 a.m. near 19th Street and Memphis Avenue. Chillous was critically injured and was transported to University Medical Center by ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Chillous was traveling in the 3800 block of 19th Street when a pickup truck driven by 38-year-old Marco Nix collided with the motorcycle at the intersection.
The Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crash Investigation Unit is scheduled to conduct a follow-up investigation on Friday morning.
