The New Mexico Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash north of Roswell. The accident happened close to Milepost 114 on US 285. The crash involved a pedestrian.
Elijah Lamb, 29, a man from Tennessee, was allegedly seen walking in the southbound lanes of the road. Lamb was struck by a car being driven by a 27-year-old woman.
Lamb was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was injured and taken to the hospital. Her current health is unknown.
Lamb may have been impaired by alcohol and wearing dark clothing at the time of the fatal crash, according to officials. The NMSP will carry on its investigation.
