The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle accident in Cherokee County on Monday. The accident occurred on U.S. Highway 175, about two miles outside Cuney at around 10:17 p.m.
According to the officials, a single vehicle was involved in the collision. The vehicle was headed south on the highway when the driver failed to drive in a single lane. This resulted in him overcorrecting which caused him to travel off the roadway. The vehicle then flipped several times.
The driver was thrown out of the vehicle and was critically injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have identified him to be 29-year-old Dalaven Dashad Baker.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated.
