Louisiana State Police Troop A responded to a single-vehicle crash on Airline Highway near Commerce Street In Ascension parish around 10:30 p.m.
The victim was identified as Allie Braud, 29, of Prairieville.
A preliminary investigation revealed a 2012 Ford F-159 was traveling south in the left lane on the highway when it hit Braud walking west on the southbound lanes.
Braud was pronounced dead at the scene due to her injuries.
The Ford driver was restrained during the crash and remained uninjured from the crash.
A routine toxicology sample was obtained and sent for further analysis. An investigation into the crash is under review.
