The El Cajon Police Department reported a pedestrian accident on Monday morning. The accident occurred at the intersection of East Main Street and Roanoke Road at around 6:21 a.m.
According to the officials, a woman and a vehicle were involved in a collision. A 2016 black Kia Soul crashed into the woman. The events leading up to the crash are not entirely clear.
The pedestrian was critically injured and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. The identity of the pedestrian has not been disclosed at this time.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the fatal crash remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. The officials have confirmed that driving under the influence was not a factor. There are no other details available at this time.
