The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a multi-vehicle accident in Cross Plains on Thursday afternoon. The accident occurred on State Highway 206, in Callahan County, at around 3:34 p.m.
According to the officials, a 2019 Ford F-250 pickup truck lost control as the trailer it was towing began to sway violently in the rain. It went into the northbound lane, where it crashed into a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado. The resulting crash also led to two other vehicles crashing into the wrecks of the first two vehicles.
The passenger of the Silverado was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have since identified the victim as 28-year-old Tristan Andrew Reidhaar. Nine others were injured in the fatal collision and taken to a hospital for treatment. There have been no updates on their conditions yet.
