Officials identified 28-year-old Odai Abuzaid, from Simi Valley, as the victim who was killed after being struck twice Sunday on Harbor Boulevard.
As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run accident took place minutes before 8 p.m. south of Spinnaker Drive. The preliminary reports showed that a vehicle hit Abuzaid and he was knocked down onto the road. After some time, another vehicle ran him down and the driver left the scene.
The first driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. The first driver was not suspected of drug or alcohol use. The authorities are still looking for the second driver. No other details are available.
