The Antioch Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident on Tuesday morning. The accident occurred at around 2:45 a.m. on Wilbur Avenue, near the Apollo Court intersection.
According to the officials, a single vehicle was involved in the collision. The vehicle was headed down the road when the driver lost control. This caused the vehicle to go off the road and into a tree.
The driver was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. There was also a dog present in the vehicle who unfortunately succumbed to their injuries. The identity of the deceased victim is not yet known at this time.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated by the authorities. The officials have confirmed that speed and alcohol were factors in the collision.
