The Abilene Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident on Saturday night. The accident occurred at the intersection of South First and Grape Streets at around 8:37 p.m.
According to the officials, a motorcycle and an SUV were involved in a collision. A 2021 Jeep Liberty was headed east on South First and was turning north onto Grape. At it turned into the intersection, it crashed into a white Kawasaki Ninja that was headed west.
The motorcyclist was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have since identified the victim as 28-year-old Eugenio Cruz. The officials have not reported if the occupants of the Jeep are uninjured.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated by the authorities. The officials have confirmed that alcohol was not a factor. There are no other details available.
