In a devastating incident on the Pomona (60) Freeway in Montebello, a 28-year-old woman, identified as Alexandra Maumoyner of Duarte, lost her life after being struck by at least one vehicle.
The fatal crash was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 12:40 a.m. on Monday, occurring on the eastbound freeway at Paramount Boulevard. Witnesses informed the CHP that a white SUV had overturned before reports of the woman being struck.
Despite efforts, Maumoyner was pronounced dead at the scene by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. To facilitate investigations and clear the crash site, the CHP issued a Sigalert, leading to the closure of all eastbound lanes of the Pomona Freeway in the vicinity. This tragic pedestrian accident is still being investigated at this time.
