According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, a motor vehicle collision that occurred in San Marcos claimed the life of a 27-year-old man on Sunday.
At approximately 5:50 p.m., a 27-year-old driving a Toyota Rav-4 swerved off the road. The vehicle then rammed into a fire hydrant and a pedestrian signal pole. It came to a rest after crashing into a dirt embankment.
When the officers arrived, they took the man to the hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries. The identity of the dead man is not yet disclosed.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
