According to the California Highway Patrol, a motor vehicle accident was reported on Sunday in south Sacramento.
The officials stated that a California Highway Patrol officer was struck by a man traveling at a high rate of speed.
The officials stated that the crash happened around 12:30 a.m. on Stockton Boulevard south of Florin Road when the CHP officer investigated a hit-and-run crash.
The officials confirmed that the officers suffered major injuries and is in critical but stable condition.
The officials identified the suspect as 27-year-old Jason Wullenwaber of Sacramento.
Wullenwaber was driving under the influence at the time of the crash.
The officials stated that Jason suffered minor injuries.
The CHP provided no additional information.
