27-year-old Jamie Lynn Hyatt died in an accident on Highway 96 near Buna (Buna, TX)

A vehicle hit and killed 27-year-old Jamie Lynn Hyatt, an Evadale woman, about a mile north of Buna on U.S. Highway 96 on Friday night.

Later, Texas Department of Public Safety troopers actively responded to the incident at about 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

As per preliminary crash report, Jamie Lynn Hyatt was walking in and out of the southbound traffic on Highway 96. Meanwhile, 17-year-old Blake Dixon driving a 1997 GMC passenger vehicle hit her.

Resultantly, Hyatt died at the scene.

However, Dixon did not suffer any injuries in the incident.

Also, an investigation is continuing.
