According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a fatal crash was reported on Tuesday afternoon in Young County. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident. Authorities stated that the collision occurred on US Highway 380.
The driver of a 2020 Ford passenger car was traveling southbound when she left the roadway and struck a tree at a high speed. As a result of this, the car caught on fire.
The driver was identified as 27-year-old Hannah Ruth Rowland. Rowland was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.
Other details pertaining to the accident remain unknown. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. The crash continues to be investigated by the TDPS.
