The California Highway Patrol reported a multi-vehicle accident in Santa Clarita on Sunday morning. The accident occurred on the Antelope Valley Freeway at Newhall Avenue at around 1:35 a.m.
According to the officials, several vehicles were involved in the collision, including a white Chevy Camaro. The events leading up to the crash are not entirely clear at this time. One person was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The officials have since identified the victim as 27-year-old Emilio Carbajal Cruz. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
