On Sunday morning, a traffic crash killed 27-year-old Edgar Soto and injured another in Oceanside.
As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle accident took place on North Avenue near Autumn Drive a little after 7 a.m. The preliminary investigation revealed that Edgar Soto, an Oceanside man, was traveling on North Avenue when he traveled across all traffic lanes, went up the south embankment and ran into the tree.
The male passenger in his vehicle suffered major injuries as a result of the collision. Officers suspect that Soto was intoxicated at the time of the accident. The identity of Soto’s passenger, who was male, remains undisclosed at this time. No other details are available.
An investigation is ongoing.
