27-year-old Darren Porter died after getting struck by a Jeep in Tucson (Tucson, AZ)

Authorities identified 27-year-old Darren Porter as the man who lost his life after getting hit by a Jeep Grand Cherokee Wednesday in Tucson.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian accident took place in the 100 block of West Fort Lowell Road. Crews actively responded to the crash scene at about 10:30 p.m. and, on arrival, found the man dead at the scene.

The investigation reports showed that Porter was attempting to cross Fort Lowell Road when he got struck by the Jeep, which was traveling west. Porter was not in a crosswalk at the time of the collision.

The Jeep’s driver immediately pulled over and cooperated with the investigators. The driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at that time. Officials said that they did not anticipate filing charges or issuing any citations. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
