On Wednesday, authorities identified 27-year-old Carl Anthony James as the man who lost his life following a fiery crash on June 24 in north Austin.
The fatal two-vehicle collision happened a little before 3 a.m. in the 14600 block of N. Interstate 35 northbound. That is near Wells Branch Parkway and Howard Lane. According to the investigation reports, a vehicle crashed into another vehicle from behind.
On arrival, emergency personnel rushed Carl Anthony James to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. On the day of the accident, officers reported that one person was pinned inside one of the cars as it got engulfed in flames. That adult was transported to the hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries. No further details were provided.
The crash remains under review.
