According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a fatal crash was reported on Wednesday morning in Jones County. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred on Highway 277. Johnson, a 22-year-old driver, was trying to evade law enforcement. He, therefore, rushed at a very high speed, colliding with two vehicles. Both the drivers struck by Johnson were hospitalized sustaining injuries.
The passenger in the vehicle was identified as 27-year-old Aaron Earl Rattler. Rattler was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.
Other information pertaining to the accident remains unknown. The crash continues to be investigated by the TDPS.
