The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported a pedestrian accident in Hayward on February 5. The crash occurred around 6 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-580 at the connector to Interstate 238.
According to the authorities, a 26-year-old man was struck by two vehicles while crossing the freeway on foot. The victim, identified as Miles Harbin by the coroner’s office, had no listed address. The victim was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the fatal crash remain under investigation. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. There are no other details available at this time.
