A tragic crash on Interstate 70 east of Wright City claimed the life of a Canadian motorcyclist on Tuesday evening. Kyler Jay, 26, collided with a 2021 Hyundai Kona while attempting to split lanes between the Kona and a semi-truck in the neighboring lane, according to Missouri Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. Jay was pronounced dead at the scene. He resided in Alberta, Canada. Fortunately, no one else was injured in the crash. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation by authorities.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
