In a tragic incident, a 26-year-old woman, identified as Amatwa Tafari, lost her life after being struck by a hit-and-run SUV in South Los Angeles. The fatal crash occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday near South Vermont Avenue and West 120th Street.
Despite an immediate response, Tafari was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. The California Highway Patrol, along with county authorities, reported that the collision involved a Ford SUV.
As investigations continue, further details surrounding the hit-and-run accident are awaited. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
