Authorities confirmed that 26-year-old Alex Migliore died of injuries he suffered following an ATV crash on Jan. 7 in Belle Chasse.
The fatal two-vehicle accident took place on LA 23 near Star Place Drive just after 8 p.m. According to the investigation reports, Migliore was riding with a juvenile driver heading south on the shoulder of LA 23 when they crashed into an abandoned trailer that was parked partially on the shoulder and partially in the grass.
Due to the impact, Migliore and the driver were ejected from the vehicle. On arrival, medics rushed them to the hospital for treatment. Both the victims were not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. Migliore succumbed to his injuries on Sun., Jan. 9. The juvenile sustained moderate injuries. Speed and impairment are not believed to have played a factor in the accident, but toxicology results are pending. No other details were provided.
The incident remains under investigation.
