On Saturday afternoon, police responded to a motor vehicle crash that killed a Kalamazoo woman. The crash happened in the 800 block of North Westnedge Avenue in Kalamazoo at about 1:20 p.m.
According to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, a 25-year-old woman crashed into a tree and a light pole. The woman was rushed to a local hospital after she was found unconscious. She was later pronounced deceased.
The police are withholding the name of the victim. The woman was the sole occupant of her vehicle.
No other injuries were reported in the crash.
Speed is suspected to be a factor in the crash. The accident is being investigated.
