According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Saturday in Murrieta. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred southbound on Temecula Valley (15) Freeway, north of California Oaks Road. A 23-year-old driver of a 2006 Honda Civic made an unsafe turn. This resulted in the driver losing control of the vehicle.
Subsequently, the car veered off the roadway and impacted a dirt embankment. A 25-year-old passenger of the car was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. The driver was identified as Agustin Martinez, while the identity of the deceased person remains unknown.
The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP. There are no other details available at this time.
