A tragic single-vehicle crash on SR-164 claimed the life of a 25-year-old man early Sunday morning, according to the Department of Public Safety. The crash occurred just before 5 a.m. and involved a Dodge Durango with the driver as the sole occupant.
Despite not releasing the driver’s identity, DPS confirmed that he was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision. The Durango veered off the westbound lane, launching off the overpass structure concrete wall, before striking a round pillar and rolling back down.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle during the rollover and pronounced dead at the scene upon EMS arrival.
