25-year-old man and 66-year-old man hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 5 (Redding, CA)

On Tuesday afternoon, two Caltrans workers suffered injuries following a traffic accident on Interstate 5.

The two-vehicle crash took place shortly before 1:00 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5, north of Hilltop Drive. The preliminary investigation showed that a box truck going in the right lane rear-ended the Caltrans truck. Two Caltrans workers, a 25-year-old Anderson man and a 66-year-old Bella Vista man, received injuries in the accident.

On arrival, medical personnel rushed the men to a local hospital with major injuries. On the other hand, the 40-year-old male driver of the box truck did not need to be taken to the hospital. Authorities closed the #2 lane for several hours to give way to the investigation. No other details are made available.

The crash remains under review.
