The Edinburg Police Department reported a multi-vehicle accident on Tuesday evening. The accident occurred near northbound Frontage Road and east Rogers Road just before 9 p.m.
According to the officials, two vehicles were involved in the collision. A beige Chrysler minivan has crashed into the side of an 18-wheeler that was travelling north. The minivan was severely damaged in the crash.
The driver of the minivan was critically injured and was rushed to a hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The officials have identified the victim as 25-year-old Daniel Laureano.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated by the officials. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
