According to the California Highway Patrol, a motor vehicle accident occurred in San Jacinto on Tuesday. The crash happened southbound 79, roughly a mile north of Gilman Springs Road at around 4:30 p.m.
According to the investigators, a GMC Yukon and a 25-year-old were involved in the collision. The officials stated that the GMC driver veered off of the highway and went down a 200-foot embankment.
A 25-year-old Daniel Franco was identified as the GMC driver who suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the accident is still being investigated at this time. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. No additional information regarding the fatal crash was provided by the Deputies.
