A motor vehicle accident was reported on Wednesday.
The accident occurred near the intersection of Mills Avenue and Telegraph Road.
According to reports, a Honda CR-V was driving south on Mills Avenue when it veered into oncoming traffic and struck the victims who were running.
The victims were 25 law enforcement recruits from various agencies. Five of them incurred serious injuries in the crash.
The LA County Fire Station 96 firefighters heard the crash and immediately gave medical attention to the victims.
The victims were rushed to various hospitals across the city. Their identities have not been disclosed by the authorities.
The driver of the Honda, identified as a 22-year-old man, took a sobriety test at the scene and the authorities confirmed that he was sober. The driver also suffered injuries in the crash. He was later taken into custody.
