Tragedy struck in Brownsville as a 24-year-old woman, identified as Stacy Gisel Zavala, lost her life in a single-vehicle crash. The motor vehicle accident occurred around 1:30 a.m. in the 2900 block of W. Alton Gloor Blvd.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Zavala was driving a grey 2012 GMC Terrain westbound on Alton Gloor Blvd. Unfortunately, for reasons yet unknown, she lost control of the vehicle. The car struck a barrier, leading to a rollover, ultimately colliding with an electrical pole and fence.
Despite the efforts of first responders, Zavala was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The exact role of speed or alcohol in the fatal crash remains uncertain, pending autopsy and toxicology results. Authorities continue their investigation into the incident.
