According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a fatal crash was reported on Friday in Grimes County. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred in the southbound lanes of Highway 6 and County Road 317. A Honda Civic was travelling northbound in the southbound lanes of Highway 6 when it struck a Ford 350 that was going southward.
The driver of the Honda was identified as 24-year-old Lauren Sandoski, and the driver of the Ford was identified as 26-year-old Paul Steve. Sandoski was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.
The cause of the accident is pending determination. The crash continues to be investigated by the TDPS.
