According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Monday in Santa Clara County. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred on State Route 152, west of Bloomfield Avenue.
A 2014 BMW was going eastbound at a very high rate of speed when it made an unsafe turning movement. This resulted in the driver losing control of the vehicle.
The car traveled onto the south shoulder of the highway and struck a tree. The 24-year-old driver of the vehicle was taken to Regional Medical Center sustaining injuries. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Other insights including the identity of the deceased remain unknown. The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
