The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle accident in Burleson County on Tuesday morning. The accident occurred along FM 50, south of FM 60.
According to the officials, two vehicles were involved in the collision. A 2018 Freightliner 18-wheeler was headed south on FM 50 when it failed to yield the right of way. This caused it to crash into a 2016 Honda that had been headed east.
The driver of the Honda was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have identified her as 24-year-old Jessica Ramos. The driver of the Freightliner was taken to a local hospital for his injuries.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
