24-Year-Old, Jason Phillips, 32-Year-Old, Chase McCutcheon, Killed In A Motor Vehicle Crash In Fresno (Fresno, CA)

The Fresno County Coroner’s Office has identified the two individuals who tragically lost their lives in a fatal crash involving an electric car in northeast Fresno early Monday morning. The victims were 24-year-old Jason Phillips, believed to be the driver, and his passenger, 32-year-old Chase McCutcheon.

The incident occurred around 1:45 a.m. on March 18 on Copper Avenue, east of Willow Avenue, near Clovis North High School. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the Tesla electric vehicle was traveling westbound at a high speed when the driver failed to negotiate a turn, causing the car to strike various obstacles before overturning.

Both occupants were ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The crash is believed to be influenced by alcohol, a factor possibly related to St. Patrick’s Day celebrations the previous day.
