A tragic hit-and-run accident claimed the life of a 24-year-old man, identified as Emilio Jimenez in downtown Jurupa Valley. The incident occurred just before 11 p.m. on Van Buren Boulevard, north of 56th Street. 

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Jimenez was walking on the southbound side of Van Buren when a motorist struck him. Whether Jimenez was crossing the street or walking in the lanes remains unclear. Following the collision, the driver fled the scene.

Despite prompt paramedic response, Jimenez was fatally injured and was pronounced dead in the fatal crash. Unfortunately, there is no available description of the hit-and-run vehicle at this time. Authorities are actively investigating the incident.
