Louisiana State Police Troopers are investigating a pedestrian crash that killed a person near Siegen Lane on Friday.
The victim was identified as 24-year-old Danisha Jackson. According to the troopers, Jackson was walking south on LA 3246 along a grassy shoulder when she was hit by a 2015 Toyota Camry heading south.
LSP said the car hit a curb, traveled off the road, and struck Jackson.
Jackson was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver, identified as Justin Alexander, was not injured in the crash and was wearing a seatbelt during the crash.
Routine toxicology samples were obtained from Alexander and Jackson and were sent for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.
