According to the California Highway Patrol, a motor vehicle crash occurred in New Cuyama on Monday. The accident resulted in the death of a 23-year-old woman and left another injured.
Roughly at 4:24 p.m., a 19-year-old driving the vehicle lost control of the vehicle and fell into a dirt embankment that led the vehicle to topple over. A 23-year-old occupant of the vehicle was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was transported to the hospital with severe injuries.
The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
