23-year-old woman dead after an auto-pedestrian collision in Nashville (Nashville, TN)

On early Wednesday morning, a 23-year-old woman lost her life after being hit by a vehicle in Nashville.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place on Rivergate Parkway and Gallatin Pike North, near Cude Lane at about 2 a.m. The early reports showed that a 23-year-old woman was walking northbound on the east side of the roadway with her boyfriend when she crossed Gallatin Pike and got struck by a pickup truck.

It is unknown why she was crossing the street, officers said. The woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Her boyfriend reportedly stayed at the side of the roadway and did not receive any injuries. The 52-year-old driver of the pickup truck also stopped and stayed at the scene.

The driver did not display any signs of impairment. The Medical Examiner’s Office is expected to conduct a toxicology test to find out if impairment contributed to the collision. No other details are immediately available.

The incident remains under investigation.
