A fatal crash occurred on Sunday near Tempe when a driver entered the westbound lanes of US 60 in the wrong direction. The Arizona Department of Public Safety reported that the driver collided with a westbound vehicle around 11 p.m. on the freeway interchange from US 60 to Interstate 10.
The wrong-way driver, identified as Samantha Ramirez, 23, of Tempe, tragically died at the scene. The occupants of the other vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at a nearby hospital before being released.
