On early Sunday morning, 23-year-old Oscar Adame Hernandez, from Mattawa, suffered injuries following a DUI crash north of Sunnyside.
As per the initial information, the single-vehicle accident took place on SR 24, at state Route 241, approximately 15 miles north of Sunnyside. The early reports showed that Oscar Adame Hernandez was driving a 1998 Honda Civic east on State Route 24 when the vehicle went off the highway and ended up in a ditch.
On arrival, emergency crews transported Adame to Astria Sunnyside Hospital with unknown injuries. Adame Hernandez’s vehicle was totaled in the accident. Drugs and alcohol were involved in the crash and Adame Hernandez was cited for driving under the influence. No other details are available.
An investigation is ongoing.
