The California Highway Patrol reported a pedestrian accident on the westbound Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway in Chatsworth. The accident was reported at 8:50 a.m. near Topanga Canyon Boulevard.
According to the officials, Manuel Camacho Jr. was fatally injured when he was impaled by lumber that flew through the cab of a truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was later identified by the County authorities.
Some lanes were blocked in the area, and there were a few traffic restrictions while the investigation was conducted. The officials have not disclosed the identity of the truck driver. It is not known if alcohol or drugs played a role in this collision. There are no other details available at this time.
