California Highway Patrol reported a hit-and-run accident on Monday, just before 10 pm. The incident occurred on Highway 140 and Buhach Road.
Reports state that a Nissan Sentra driver travelling west on Highway 140, attempted a left turn onto Buhach Road, and collided with a motorcycle. The impact threw the rider off the bike, and they were subsequently struck by an oncoming Ford Mustang.
The driver of the Ford Mustang stopped at the scene to cooperate with authorities. However, the Nissan driver fled the scene. He was later located at his residence and has since been identified as 23-year-old Luis Romero.
The investigating officers confirmed that Romero was not under the influence of any substances, and arrested him for Felony Hit and Run and Vehicular Manslaughter.
